Phillip L. Misenheimer's Obituary
Rev. Phillip L. Misenheimer, age 93 years, passed away peacefully in Springdale, AR on July 28th, 2026. He was born April 6, 1933, in Bearden, Arkansas to Nolan and Gladys Bowen Misenheimer, who preceded him in death. The love of his life, Joyce Misenheimer, passed away in 2021 after 67 years of marriage.
Phillip graduated from Springhill High School, Springhill, LA in 1951. He received his bachelor ‘s degree at Louisiana Tech, Ruston LA in 1956 and received his B.G.S in Instructional Resources at Rollins College in 1985.
It was May 15, 1955, when Phillip decided to answer God’s call to the ministry while he was attending Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA. Once he graduated, he spent 12 years planting churches in Louisiana and Florida as an Interstate Missionary. He became the National Director of campus ministry for the Association of Baptist Students and went on as church pastor in Fayetteville and Wedington, AR. In 1990, he became a Chaplain Director at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville and served there for 28 years, retiring at the age of 85.
He is survived by two children, Cindy (Mark) Cady of Foley, AL and Greg (Sandy) Misenheimer of Springdale, AR. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Keyla (Marcus) Sugg of Prairie Grove, AR, Devin Payne of Philadelphia, PA, Tanner Payne of Honolulu, HI, Leah Misenheimer of Lowell, AR, Caitlin (TJ) Houk of Lowell, AR, Cassandra (Will) Ginger of Farmington, AR, Michael Trexler of Lowel, AR, and Christina (Jesse) Riedel of Agoura Hills, CA, Brandon (Ashley) Cady and Joshua Cady, of Sheridan, AR. Phillip is survived by many great grandchildren: Cody, Connor, and Chloe Reed, Atlas Sealy, Rowan Houk, Neveah and Nathaniel Cady, Elijah, Kaidence and Kinsley Sugg, and Kaitlynn (Sean) Bishop of Prairie Grove, AR. He is also the great grandfather to three, Ledger, Beckett and Ezra. Phillip is survived by one brother Bob (Rae) Misenheimer of Arizona, sister-in-law Ann Misenheimer of Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service was held with no graveside service.
