Phillip and my mother, Norma Pearl Baker were cousin. His mom, Granny to us all and my mother's father JD Baker were siblings. My mother and Phillip spent many hours keeping up with the Baker Family "doings" right up until my mother's death in 2002. Imagene, Dot, Bernice, Mike, Phillip my mom and her brother JW spent their youth growing up together. I am sure they are all telling tales of the years past in heaven. I was a student, friend, and neighbor of Phillip’s. I lived close to him on Mt. Sequoyah while in law school and enjoyed visiting with him thru the years. His son Matt had a golden retriever named Host that escaped on a regular basis. Although I had not seen Phil in many years I liked knowing he was in this world. He was by far my favorite professor.
