Phillip Jay Warford's Obituary
Phillip Jay Warford, longtime resident and business owner in Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 81 years old. He was born on December 2, 1943, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Hozie James and Grace (Hulsizer) Warford. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Phyllis Stephenson and Linda Sisemore, and a nephew Mike Stephenson.
Phillip was a schoolteacher in St. Paul Schools for several years. He started Warford Auto Salvage in Fayetteville, owning that until the mid 1980’s. He then started Warford Motors in south Fayetteville and was still a fixture there until recently. Phillip was a friend to all and will be missed be everyone who knew him. He would talk to everyone and was an encyclopedia of knowledge about people and places.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce (Denney) Warford; son Brad Warford; grandson Case Warford; nieces and nephews Roberta Hanson, Marc Hanson, Alan Hanson, Clinton Stephenson, Philip Stephenson, Keith Stephenson, James Stephenson, Julie Sisemore, and many other loved ones and friends.
A memorial service will be held for Phillip on Friday, June 6, at 11:00 AM at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
