Phillip Wayne Riddle's Obituary
Phillip Wayne Riddle, son of Elmer Lawrence Riddle and June (McCuistion) Riddle, passed away on November 21, 2012 in Tulsa at the age of 57 years, 3 months, and 22 days. He was born July 30, 1955 in Fayetteville, Arkansas and was enrolled in the Fayetteville school system and graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1973. He later attended the University of Arkansas.
Phil began a life-long career as a radio D.J. in Fayetteville at KKEG. He worked in other stations throughout the U.S. and spent the last 32 years at KMOD in Tulsa. Better known as “Phil Stone”, he and his partner Brent Douglas created the popular Roy D. Mercer comedy routine. Phil’s passion for rock and roll music led him to work with and become friends with many celebrities and countless people in the business. Wherever he lived he was always an avid Razorback supporter and fan. Phil was baptized in Trinity United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Phil was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Riddle and his brother-in-law, Carrol McClellan both of Fayetteville. His survivors include his sons, Jeremy Lawrence Riddle and wife, Tiffany of Farmington, Arkansas and Charles Phillip Riddle of Tulsa; daughters, Aja Riddle Vaught and husband, Tristan of Tulsa, Sarah Elizabeth Riddle and Audrey Ann Riddle of Tulsa; grandchildren, Kevin Riddle, Peyton McCoy and Greenlee Smith of Farmington, AR and Isabella and Jude Vaught of Tulsa; and cousin Tonya McCuistion of Farmington, AR.
There will be a celebration of Phil's life held Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Cain's Ballroom. Doors will open to the public at 5:00 pm.
