Randol Val Paschal's Obituary
Randol Vol Paschal, 86, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away, Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. .
Randol was the younger of two sons (of 10 children) born by Francis Kinion and William Sherman Paschal of the White House Community in Washington County. As a young man he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in order to support the family income. At the onset of America's involvement in WWII he volunteered and was assigned to the Army AirCorp becoming a sergeant and flight engineer on the B-24 Liberator heavy bomber flying bombing mission in the Asia Theater, Burma. Flight engineers were in short supply and so Randol volunteered to crew bombing missions with other bombers in addition to his own crew. For this bravery and the extreme danger of bombing missions he was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Soon after returning home to Fayetteville Randol met and married the love of his life, the beautiful Lena Mae Stephenson of Springdale, AR. They were married nearly 60 years. Randol took a leap of faith and moved his wife of two years and newly born son to Los Angles, California where over 18 years, and 3 daughters, he refined his engineering knowledge into a highly skilled heating and air conditioning profession. In 1969, he returned to Springdale and started the Paschal Heating and Air Conditioning company with only one service truck, which became a successful business for nearly 40 years. His business continues today under new ownership.
Randol is survived by his son Dr. Rod Paschal of Falls Church, VA, three daughters Gail Pfahler of Bentonville, AR, Tracee Helzer of Rogers, AR, Beckie VerMeulen of Springdale, AR, and twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Sonora Baptist Church. With Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Travis Helzer, Stephen Helzer, Randy Helzer, Dustin Pfahler, Nathan Pfahler, Weston VerMeulen and Gregory Lachowsky.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM till 11:30 AM Saturday August 25, 2007, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 4520 North Crossover, Fayetteville, Arkansas, with the family-receiving friends from 10:00 AM till 11:30 AM.
