R.C. Vaughn's Obituary
RC Vaughn, of Springdale, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 81 years old. He was born on May 26, 1936, in Wayton, Arkansas to Joseph and Mary (Ramsey) Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Herschel Vaughn, Freda Murray, Lonnie Breedlove, Juanita Burton, Onzalee Carlton, Homer Vaughn, Delbert Vaughn, and Maxine Wiley; mother-in-law Nola Elizabeth Taylor; step father-in-law Council Taylor. RC worked for Tyson Foods and retired after 35 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping at the family campground. He loved riding 4 wheelers with his wife on the back. After he retired he enjoyed life to the fullest. He and a friend had a side job selling bait such as craw dads and worms near their favorite fishing holes. They also loved buying and reselling at local flea markets. His kids remember him singing, “lets go down to the crawdad hole” along with other old songs. He enjoyed helping others. Once while gardening, a young man asked for some fresh vegetables. RC obliged but in return requested the young man come in and join them for dinner. But most of all, the thing that made him the happiest, was being with and playing with the grandkids and great grand kids. RC is survived by his wife, Mary Vaughn of Springdale; son Ricky Vaughn of Springdale; son Kenneth Vaughn & his wife Stephanie of Springdale; daughter Priscilla Vickers & husband Loy of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren Brandon Humphries, Brent Humphries, Zachary Loving, Bradley Vaughn, Brittany Vaughn, Sarah Vaughn, Preston Vaughn, and Alyssa Gurley; 10 great-grandchildren; twin sister Lucille Ball; and many other family, friends, and loved ones. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 27, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 28, at 10:00 AM at Nelson-Berna Funeral home, with burial to follow at Rich Cemetery in Newton County near the family camp grounds.
