Richard Jackson "Jack" Hunt's Obituary
Richard Jackson (“Jack”) Hunt, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away July 21, 2020 at Washington Regional Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Jack was born July 27, 1944 to the late Whit P. and Gladys Lyle Hunt of Smackover. Jack was a 1962 graduate of Smackover High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He was a member of the 1964 National Championship Arkansas Razorbacks. He started his career as a coach in Texas and later at Hot Springs High School, Hot Springs. Jack joined the FBI as a field agent in 1972 and retired from the Bureau in 1998 as Section Chief, Chief of Criminal Intelligence.
Jack is survived by his son, Rob Hunt (Stephanie) of Frisco, Texas, daughters, Angela Hunt of O’Fallon, MO, Nicki Hunt, Richmond, VA and Kelly Hunt Parker, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Hunt Mears, North Little Rock, AR, and brother, Tom Hunt (Suzie), Conway, AR.
Private family services will be held at First United Presbyterian Church Courtyard in Fayetteville. Burial is in Smackover Cemetery by Nelson Berna Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to F.B.I.A.A. Memorial College Fund.
