I was an awkward teenager when I met Rich. It was at his house near Pismo beach. I was nervous about meeting his brother Bruce, who was dating my sister Cheryl (and later married her.) Rich treated me like a real person. I mean he talked to me, as awkward as I was, and included me and told me stories about his and Bruce's antics growing up. A little mischivous would be an understatement. He was a delightful story teller and I will always remember his laugh and his kindness throughout the years. At that first meeting he told me not to worry, that Bruce was one of the good guys. You are bothers that share that quality. I am privledged to have been touched by your experience, strength and hope and your reassurance I would be ok
during a really tough time.
Your light and gentle spirit is where it always has been, in my heart and in my journey to be a better person. I honor you and love you as always.

I can see Rich walking on his hands and standing on his head and bouncing on his pogo stick! when we were kids, he would sit beside my bed and pet my head until I could go to sleep. RIP brother
