Richard Lynn Ward's Obituary
Richard Lynn Ward, age 78, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on December 23, 2024. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on June 11,1946, to Zellous and Fern (Wood) Ward.
Richard entered the National Guard after high school and served for 4 years. He was very talented in many areas. He began his career as a jeweler at Underwoods and later taught jewelry design and repair at a junior college. He loved flying and built various airplanes. He also helped build the one featured in the movie Poncho Barns. As a matter of fact, Richard could build just about anything you asked him to. He also enjoyed singing, and at one time was in a gospel singing group. He enjoyed going to church and was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters – Bethel Myers, Melba Lou Ward, Nadine Ward, and Christine Rogers; and two brothers – Don Ward and Gene Ward.
Richard is survived by his son Richard L. Ward II, and his wife Tessa, and their daughter Nevaeh of Springdale; his sister Judy Ward of Springdale; brother Gerald Ward and wife Donna of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 2:00PM at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
