Rickie Don Thompson's Obituary
Rickie Don Thompson, age 74, passed away Thursday February 1, 2024, in Springdale, AR. He was born March 25th, 1949 in Sweetwater, Texas to William Harrison and Robbie Dean Shelfer Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents along with his brother Robert and his sister Treva.
He served in the United States Army for 25 years during which he was deployed in Kuwait during The Persian Gulf War, Kosovo, and homeland security duties in his time of service to his country. He retired as rank E-7 Sargent First Class.
Rickie not only served his country, but also those closest to him at home. He made many a noble sacrifice by putting others before himself, but he always performed his actions and deeds unto others with compassion, love, and a smile on his face regardless of the odds of his circumstances.
He is survived by his two sons Chris Thompson of Oolagah, Oklahoma and Brian Thompson of Charlotte, North Carolina, and his grandchildren William, Lucas, and Blair Thompson. He was a beloved father, a loving husband, a dear friend to many, and a light in a world where it was needed most. He will forever be cherished, remembered, and missed.
