Rita Frances Traxson's Obituary
Rita Frances Traxson, age 71, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, in Rogers, Arkansas. She was born October 9, 1950, in Parsons, Kansas to Frederick and Elsie (Shively) Elmer. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 50 years, Steven Traxson.
Rita worked as a registered nurse for 42 years and created lasting relationships with her patients and coworkers during her career that continued after her retirement. She has been a long-time member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and valued and practiced her faith on a daily basis. After retiring, Rita enjoyed scrapbooking, getting lost in a good book, tending to her plants around the house, watching the Razorbacks, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Rita is survived by her children; Tim Traxson of Fayetteville, Chris Traxson of Rogers, Jason Traxson and wife Alyssa of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Samuel, Owen, and Zoey Traxson; siblings, Don Elmer and wife Cindy of Pittsburg, Betty Elmer of St. Louis; nephews AJ Elmer and wife Megan of Marquette, KS, Fred Elmer of Wichita, KS; nieces Stephanie Elmer of Pittsburg, KS, Lisa Winklepleck (Elmer) and husband Bryce of Wichita, KS.
A visitation will be held, Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home of Rogers. A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church with a burial to immediately follow at Benton County Memorial Park.
