Robbie Gean Buss' Obituary
Robbie Gean (Jackson) Buss passed away at the age of 66 on Friday, May 26th 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born May 30th 1956 to Bill and Pauline Downum of Springdale. Robbie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Louis and Ruth Downum, her maternal grandparents Newell and Lois Davis, her father Bill Downum, her sister Carla Parson, her mother and father in-law John and Fanchon Buss, and her sister in-law Sue Preston. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard Buss. She is also survived by her mother Pauline Downum of Springdale, her daughter Grandi Pennington of West Fork, her son Joe Buss and Melanie Kelley of Fayetteville. Robbie is survived by 5 grandchildren: Kallie, Kaden, and Kole Pennington of West Fork and Chloe and Jordan Buss of Fayetteville. She is the eldest of 6 children. She is survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister: Ricky and wife Shirley Jackson of Edmond Oklahoma, Tammy and husband Steve Israel of Springdale, Tony and wife Pam Downum of Evansville, and Shannon Downum of Springdale. She is also survived by her sister in-law Ann Schott and husband Larry of West Fork, her sister in-law Kathy Corter of West Fork, and her sister in-law Linda Hagan of West Fork.
Robbie worked at EPC Elkhart in Fayetteville for over 36 years. She graduated from Springdale High School in 1974 and was a member of the National Honors Society. She also attended the University of Arkansas. Robbie loved her life on Sugar Mountain where she and Richard built their home, farmed, and raised cattle. She loved all things Razorback, especially Razorback Football. She spent her free time watching her grandkids play sports and taking care of her elderly mother. Her family and grandkids were a huge part of her life. She was like a mother to all of her 22 nieces and nephews. Robbie’s selfless love for those around her will continue to shine by her gift of life through organ donation. The family wishes to thank everyone for all of their support and prayers.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 30th 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 31st 2023 at 3:00pm also at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery.
