Our hearts go out to you, Billie, Becky, Bobbi, Sarita, and your families. I have so many fond memories of Bob, starting when he was preaching for the Lancaster congregation in the mid '60's. I remember being excited when Bob agreed to take the work in Ontario as I knew we vacationed there periodically. One of many cherished memories is when Bob & I "pulled a fast one" over on my gullable grandmother. One summer Bob & I would use one of the member's pool, with their permission of couse, while they were away. Bob was an excellent swimmer but my grandmother didn't know that. We conspired together one day and I mentioned to grandmother that I was going to call Bob on the phone and tell him I no longer wanted to swim with him. I had gotten tired of always dragging him out of the deep water -- that he would always want to dive off the board but just couldn't swim worth a "flip." When I called Bob with my grandmother within "earshot," she was so flustered as she was the kind of person who never liked to make "waves" with anyone. Of course we quickly told her about our little prank and she was so relieved! Bob was an excellent proclaimer of God's Word and I always enjoyed hearing him preach. I'll miss him here but as you, will look forward to seeing him again.
With Heartfelt Condolences,
Larry & Linda
Just a note to let you all know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We ask that he strengthen and comfort you during this time and always. What a wonderful example Bob was for all who he touched. We are all better for knowing him and being taught by him.
We love you all,
Brad and Elana
Bob did a great deal to inspire me to preach the gospel. With his encouragement, I have just completed my 30th year of preaching. Bob & Billie made a lasting impression on us and we are thankful for having worked with them in Ontario, California.
When Bob was considering a move to Texas from Ontario, he asked me if I thought there was anyone who wished he would move. I told him that I had no doubt there were some, but they were the ones who needed him most. Faithful preaching does not win friends and influence people, it saves souls. This was a lesson learned well from Bob. May our God and Father bless and keep his beloved family in the days ahead.
The angels are welcoming home a faithful servant of the Lord. We cannot know the sense of loss Billie will be feeling and we pray for her comfort and well being. Bob was a special minister, servant and friend. He bestowed a confidence and assurance to us in a difficult time in our life when were filled with doubts. We will always have a fond special place in our hearts for the relationship we've had with Bob and Billie. May God Bless all of you.
