Robert (Eddie) Elliott McCarty's Obituary
Robert (Eddie) Elliott McCarty Sr., 80 of Fayetteville, Arkansas (formerly of Helena), passed away September 14, 2008 at his residence in Fayetteville. He was born June 24, 1928 in Helena, Arkansas, the son of Alto V. and Jane Burns McCarty.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years; Merry (Brines) McCarty of the home, five children; Robin McCarty , of Turtle Cay, Bahamas, Becky Dole of Paris, Illinois, Jack McCarty of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Holly Hiryak of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tim McCarty of DeWitt, Arkansas, one brother; Al McCarty of Rogers, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and Rocky his faithful dog.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Jane Ann Maudsley of London, England.
Eddie was a gifted 3rd generation watch maker, clock maker and jeweler learning from his grandfather the intricacies of each beginning at the age of 14. His greatest accomplishment was his family whom he loved dearly.
A graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the Fairview Memorial Garden Cemetery, with Father Bradley Barber officiating.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Washington Regional Hospice, #25 Colt Square, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72703. The family would like to thank the Hospice staff for their kind and loving support.
