George and I were terribly saddened to learn of Bob's passing. We have such great memories of him and will forever be indebted to him (and you, Laura,!) for the generosity and time he spent with us "showing us the ropes" and sharing other ranch wisdom when we purchased the ranch. We have always had the mind set, even after all these years, of protecting Bob's legacy here. He was such a great, kind, positive guy. And FUNNY! We still use some "Bob-isms!" Please know our hearts, love and light are with you and the family.

I met Bob when my boyfriend (now husband) worked with Bob in the restaurant business. I helped open two restaurants in the Bay Area with him. Working with Bob was an adventure. One afternoon he found the book I was reading (Dog Day Afternoon) in the rental car and read it in one afternoon. He loved to sing and would when we were driving. Life was never a doll around Bob.

We were so sadden to learn that our longtime friend has passed away. So many memories of Bob through the year from the memorable dinners and celebrations at Tortilla Flats, The Hungry Hunter, etc. Off road racing and so much more. Many years at Chenowth Racing and beyond. Such a sense of humor and always upbeat. I will miss answering our phone and hearing Bob say,"Hi Gayle, is Big Ugly around ?" R.I.P. Bob, you will be treasured in our memories.

Bob was a special friend many years ago, although we had completely been out of touch. Bob gave my husband, Walt, a job at Kelco, while still in college. He came to the Kappa Sigma Fraternity house at San Diego State looking for someone to play softball on the Kelco team. The catch was that the this person had to agree to wash test tubes at night in order to play. Walt was just that guy and actually ended up retiring from Kelco after a long career as a lab technician. I watched many a softball game and became close friends with all the other wives. Bob also served as a groomsman at our wedding in 1967. My condolences to the Gookin family, may he rest in peace.

We are so sad to hear if Bob's passing. He was a most wonderful person. From our restaurant days, our sitting under the stars in Baja in front of a bonfire listening to Bob's stories, to you building the Lakeside home and you guys starting your love of horses, to your Boulevard ranch "Somewhere Farms" . We will miss you forever! Love Dana and Larry. Our thoughts are with you Laura and all the Gookin and Gilboy familys.

Laura, Leona and I were so sad to hear of Bob's passing. We will never forget our trip out to the farm to visit and romp around with you two and all the Clydesdales. Our daughter turns 18 soon and she still remembers that day. May he rest in peace and we hope you are doing OK.
