Robert L. Croddy's Obituary
Mr. Robert L. (Bob) Croddy, 66, of Huntsville, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, December 17, 2007, in Fayetteville. He was born July 19, 1941, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Donald Eugene and Rebecca Catherine Adams Croddy. He graduated from Northwestern High School near Kokomo, service in the U.S. Army for three years, worked at the Delco Radio in Kokomo IN., attended Indiana University before leaving in 1968 to attend the University of Arkansas, graduating in 1971, he was head teacher at the Hindsville Elementary School until it closed, than taught sixth grade science at Huntsville Middle School. He served twice as president of Huntsville Classroom Teachers Association. Beginning in 1984 he operated a motorcycle training school, first alone and later with his daughter Kendra. During his final years of teaching, he also drove a school bus, taught four-wheeler and hunter safety classes, and wrote safety and editorial columns for The Ride a Motorcycle Magazine.
He is survived by; his wife Sharron Johnson Croddy of the home, one daughter; Kendra Catherine Marie Croddy of Huntsville, Arkansas one brother; Donald D. Croddy of Kokomo, Indiana, four sisters; Jean Ann Scott of Kokomo, Indiana, Kathleen Croddy of Shoal, Indiana, Roberta Croddy of Wardensville, West Virginia, and Susan McVay of Pullman, Michigan.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 4520 North Crossover Road, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Motorcyclists who wish to join in the tribute ride for Mr. Croddy may meet at 12:30 PM at the Valley Inn Restaurant in Hindsville and ride to the memorial.
