Robert R. Spears' Obituary
Robert R. Spears, Jr., 0f Winslow, Arkansas, was born on November 24, 1942, to Robert and Hazel Spears in Dallas, Texas. He peacefully passed away on December 12, 2022, at 80 years old.
Robert served in the United States Air Force as Air Police. After leaving the military, he went to work at Rainbow Bakery for 15 years. He then went on to work, and retire, from Nesbitt Asphalt. His contribution to the Washington County Election Commission for twenty-plus years was invaluable. He served the Community of Winslow as a long-time poll worker, trainer, and Supervisor. Robert was a caring man, always giving his time to help others. On most days you could find him working in his shop, on the tractor, or sitting on the porch. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Hazel Spears, brothers Walt Spears and Lane Spears, sister Mary Ruth Sharp, and several uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Robert is survived by his son Robert Spears, grandson Thomas Spears, daughter Lori Spears, brother George Spears and wife Geri, sisters-in-law Sue Spears and Alice Spears, Aunt Bobbie Cline, long time friend Jackie Wade, his faithful companion Zoe, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, December 16, at 11:00 AM at Sunset Cemetery located at 19238 Sunset Rd. Winslow, Arkansas 72959, under the direction of Moore’s Funeral Chapel.
