Roberta "Bert" Gabbard's Obituary
Roberta "Bert" Gabbard was born on May 22, 1931, in Johnson, Arkansas. She went home to Heaven on March 25, 2024. Bert was the second of eight children born to her parents Francis "Ellen" Robinson and Troy Branson. On September 15, 1950, she married the love of her life, James "Jim" Gabbard. They had three children: Virginia Hughes, Glenda Kolb, and Darrell Gabbard (Diane). They primarily lived on the West Coast but moved home to Arkansas upon retirement. Bert volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Blackburn Community Church led by Paster Marsha and her husband James. She loved her church family very much. Bert was a loving wife, caring daughter and sibling, an unwavering mother, and the most amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. Her kindness and unconditional love was felt by all. Bert is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Jim, sister Dorothy Drummond, brother J.C. Branson, sister Ethel Moore, sister Linda Moncrief, and her granddaughter Dina Richards. She is survived by her brother James Branson, sister Patsy Basler, sister Brenda Gann, her 3 children, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
