I am so blessed to have known Roger in this lifetime. He was such a wonderful human being. He was so kind hearted. He exuded the love of Jesus in his attitude and his smile. We enjoyed many meals, movies and baseball games with him and Linda, including an election night watch party at our home on November 5, 2024. I will hold dear all the fond memories I have with him and Linda here in Bella Vista, AR.
My Mom and Dad, Woodie & Joann McRee were charter members of Unity. In 1999 my Dad passed away in the hospital. My Mom was very upset and Bro Roger stayed with Dad until the funeral home could get there, so we could take Mom home. I was so glad to be able to talk with him about these memories last time he was down here.

My heart and prayers go out to the Gill family. Roger had such a big personality and made people feel like he had known them for years. He always had a smile and kind words for me whenever he saw me. Enjoy fishing with the disciples. You and Jonah can now talk about who let the bigger fish get away! Again, my heart and prayers go out to the Gill family.
We met Roger a little over 3 years ago when our little country church in McDonald county Missouri needed a "fill-in" preacher, as ours had resigned. We were given Roger's name and phone number by a mutual acquaintance. We called him, he was more than willing to come to Mill Creek Baptist. We had another Sunday that we needed him to "fill-in". After that we loved him and loved Linda. Roger was everything in a preacher that we needed. We asked him if he would be willing to be our interim pastor. He quickly accepted. His first official Sunday was Easter Sunday 2023. He was compassionate, cheerful, knowledgeable of the Bible, easy to listen to, funny, just easy to love and fellowship with. Our time with Roger was way too short, but we were so blessed to have the time we did have. Will miss you, Roger. We have hope and we will see you again! Jerry and Linda Abercrombie
I met Roger Gill at Unity Baptist Church in Rosepine, Louisiana, in 2019.
He was the preacher. This man wasn’t just any preacher, he preached the word of God in a way that you could feel the Power, Love and Meaning of the Word.
He had the love of Jesus, and he shared it openly and unashamed. He gave that same love to everyone he met, including me.
Although we weren’t lifelong friends, I truly loved this man.
I don’t believe there’s anyway I could ever forget his Grace, his handshake, his hug or his friendship.
I know he’s rejoicing with Jesus right now. Even though I have that peace, I’m heartbroken at the void he leaves.
I’m especially heartbroken at the void he leaves for his family, friends and Church.
Heaven gained a Saint. Unfortunately, earth lost a powerful man of God.
Lord, give me the ability to be half the man he was.
Pray hard for his family and friends.
We will meet again, brother.
