I will never forget the ride in one of his airplanes; it was exhilarating yet frightening all at the same time, not one to go a flyin' in a small plane. He was a very comfortable and easy person to come to know, ready to help in any way should one come to need it. And such beautiful woodwork pieces---feel so lucky to have seen them and enjoy his creative talent.
Condolences and much love to you, Stephnie, Helen and Family.

I had the privlege of knowing Roger when we lived in Escondido for 8 years. I got to work with his wife Stephnie and dear friend Helen. While I didn't know Roger well, in a way I did. With people of Rogers integrity it doesn't take a long time to really know them - because what you see is what you get. Not a lot of window dressing and image, just substance and character! Roger was a good man, because he was a God man. Our sincere condolences to Stephnie, Helen and family . . .
Roger and Billy are partying hard in glory right now!!!

Love you Grandpa. You will be tremendously miss.
I remember the family reunions in Hastings and later in Missouri. He and Dad had a special relationship. He was always friendly, made you feel special, upbeat and special love of family.
Roger was my buddy !!! We have had our moments over the years but I still loved him alot . We had lots of good talks about flying and fishing and his dislike for football 😁. I will miss him but I will always remember my buddy Roger !!!
So many memories we have of uncle Roger! We will treasure them all!! ❤️Love Rob Shannon Meledy and Sonny!!
I liked Roger. He had this gentleness and strength and struck me as on the quiet side. I clearly remember seeing the plane he was building in their garage in Escondido. I enjoyed going out into the Pacific ocean in their motor boat which was loads of fun as well as on Bear ? Lake there in NW Arkansas. He did some minor body work on my Toyota for no charge.
That God given ability and skill of making, building, creating with his mind and hands rippled throughout his life. I love a bowl I have that he smoothed out of wood and gave to me.
Thanks be to God for Roger's life!
