Roland and I served together in Berlin, GE. It was a rewarding experience to reunite with him after 49 years at a Turner Tanker Reunion in Brandson, MO. I friendship became stronger, and we always seeked each other out in future reunions and by phone in between. He was a amazing man, and my kind of senior Non Commissioned Officer, because he took care of his troops, and led them well.
May he rest in peace.

Roland was an Interesting and pleasant man to be around. He loved to repsent the people in trouble at the plant. He was very knowledgeable as a union repsentive.
