Ronald Joe Tomlinson's Obituary
Ronald Joe Tomlinson, 64 of Fayetteville died Friday, December 28, 2012 in Springdale. He was born October 9, 1948 in Fayetteville, Arkansas the son of Elmer Tomlinson and Edith Caudle Tomlinson.
As a young man, Ron developed his love for family, sports, and music in his parents’ home which he continued to enjoy throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed serving his community when the opportunity arose. He served on the Greenland school board, city council, and city planning commission. Additionally he coached pee wee and little league sports for many years. He was a long time resident of Greenland where he graduated and where his kids and grandkids also graduated and some grandkids are presently attending.
He retired from J. V. Manufacturing in January of 2003 and was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Michael Tomlinson, and 3 sisters, Glenda Tomlinson, Deborah Tomlinson and Aundrea Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Jeanie Tomlinson, daughter, Janelle (Don) Cleavenger. Sons, Jared and Doug Tomlinson; grandsons, Cole, Mason, Jacob and Caleb; granddaughter, Presley Tomlinson; sister, Linda (Jack) Bishop; brothers, Rick (Donna), Scott(Sheila), Brad and Matt (Joy) Tomlinson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends and family Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 at Moores Chapel.
Funeral service will be 2PM, Monday December 31, 2012 at Greenland First Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Howerton officiating. Burial to follow in Brentwood Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Greenland Basketball Program, c/o Admin Building, 10 N. Main, Greenland, AR 72737.
