Ronald Gene Stuart's Obituary
Obituary
Ronald Gene Stuart, 66, of Lowell, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at
Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born January 16, 1953 in Corona,
California to Calvin Eugene Stuart and Almeta Leola (Richardson) Stuart. He spent his
childhood in Pampa, TX, before moving to Mobeetie, TX where he graduated
high school and met his wife Tanya Jo Dunn. Ron and Tanya were high school
sweethearts and were married at ages 17 and 19. They raised three sons: Chad, Jarod,
and Todd, as well as their furbabies: Andy, Rommel, K.C., Prissy, Sophie, Mei, and
Zoe, which held a very special place in his heart.
Ron was a strong Christian that lived by those principles every day of his life. He loved
his family more than anything else. He spent his free time working around the house on
various projects and raising a family of three sons. Ron served as the Chairman of the
Board for the Pregnancy Resource Center and had a passion for life. He used the same
three corny dad-jokes at every restaurant that he went to. He was an enthusiastic
supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners. He was very sarcastic
and loved to joke around and make others smile.
Ron loved using super corny dad-jokes at every moment that he could. He frequently
would tell his sons a phrase he inherited from his father and grandfather, “It’s better
than a sharp stick in the eye”, until he actually received a sharp stick in the eye. He
stopped using that phrase. He would also recount another phrase from his father and
grandfather, “I’ve had worse places than that on my eyeball”, until he had shingles on
his eye. He stopped using that phrase also. Ron loved internet memes and would post
and send memes he found funny to his family and friends daily.
Ron retired in Lawton, OK after a successful 25 year career with Walmart as a Store
Manager in various locations. The core of his leadership philosophy was that your
success was driven by helping others reach their full potential. He valued teaching and
growing people more than anything else in his work. Under Ron’s leadership, the
Sheridan Road Lawton, OK Walmart was in the top three volume Supercenters in the
entire company at one point in time.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Eugene Stuart, and mother, Almeta
Leola (Richardson) Stuart of Mobeetie, TX.
Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Tanya Jo (Dunn) Stuart of Lowell, AR; three
sons, Chad Stuart and wife, Sheena, of Windsor, CO, Jarod Stuart of Oklahoma City,
OK, and Todd Stuart and wife, Kirstie, of Lowell, AR; two brothers, Randy Stuart and
wife, Sarah, and Dennis Stuart and wife, Vanessa; and three grandchildren, Deven,
Gage, and Luke.
