Ronald Wayne Horst's Obituary
Ronald Wayne Horst, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the Fayetteville Veteran’s Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1950, in Mobridge, South Dakota, to Robert and Elfrieda Sandmeier Horst. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his three brothers, Kenneth, Reuben, and Dale Horst. Ronald attended school in Glenham, South Dakota, and Eureka, South Dakota. He graduated from high school in 1969 and immediately joined the United States Navy and became a radio operator. After serving four years in the Navy, he returned to Mobridge, South Dakota, to be around his family. After a few years, he moved to Arkansas where he began a career in Telecom construction where he had various duties. After ten years, he became an over the road trucker until he retired. Even though he never married, his family and friends were very important to him. Ronald was an organ donor and many people will receive the help that they need by his sacrifice. He is survived by his sister, Delores Brown and husband James; his brother, Leroy Horst and wife Judy; eight nieces and nephews; twenty-one great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great nieces and nephews A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Concord Baptist Church at 6105 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956. Interment will follow at 2:00PM at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 700 S Government Ave, Fayetteville, AR 72701. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church, c/o Dale Walker at 6105 ALMA HWY. VAN BUREN, AR 72956.
