Ross Conley Fink's Obituary
On March 3, 2026, Ross “Pappy” Conley Fink, 74, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, crossed the river into the promised land.
Ross was born on June 11th, 1951 to Carroll and Nita Fink in Hemet, California. Ross was a gifted athlete lettering in basketball, football, and baseball, earning California All-State honors in football and baseball at Rowland Heights High School. After Ross graduated high school in 1969, he went on to study at Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida, later earning his bachelor’s in Organizational Management from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
In 1973, Ross married Nancy Rae Jeffery in Anaheim, California. Ross was always quick to point out that marrying Nancy was easily one of the best decisions of his life; Nancy enjoyed reminding Ross of this. In 1975, Ross and Nancy moved from California to Southeast Texas where his family had relocated, with Ross taking a job at Dow Chemical Company. In Texas, they went on to have three children, Douglas, Tim, and Bob.
In 1984, Ross and his family moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas where Ross would learn the heartbreak, joy, and more heartbreak of becoming an Arkansas Razorback fan the following decades. It was in Arkansas that Ross began his long career in corrugated paperboard sales, first with WestArk Container, then Temple-Inland, and finally with Pratt Industries. Ross was a distinguished salesperson and sales leader, excelling in his field with integrity, humor, and intelligence. Ross was also a respected youth baseball coach in Bentonville, Arkansas where he shared his love of the game in his mentorship of countless boys and young men. Ross served as an elder at the East 102 church of Christ in Bentonville, Arkansas and the Access Road church of Christ in Van Buren, Arkansas. In 1998 Ross and Nancy took on the directorship of the Arkansas, Florida College summer camp and in 2004, the Georgia, Florida College summer camp. Ross found great joy in sharing the light of Jesus Christ and influencing young people during his 14 years as Camp Director.
In 2003 Ross and Nancy moved to Alpharetta, Georgia with Nancy’s parents, Hugh and Ovadeen Jeffery where Ross served as Temple-Inland’s head of national accounts, then joining Pratt Industries as Regional Sales Manager. Though he had preached most of his adult life in some capacity, upon his retirement from the corporate world in 2016, Ross began preaching the Gospel full time at the church of Christ in Roswell, Georgia, where he also served as elder. Like his father, Ross was a gifted evangelist who loved to share the Good News.
In 2017, Ross and Nancy moved back to Fayetteville, Arkansas to be closer to their grandchildren, Sadie, James, and Iris. He enjoyed his retirement, golfing, traveling the world with Nancy and friends, playing with his grandkids, and continuing to preach whenever and wherever.
Ross loved deeply and authentically. He was a part of the Kingdom and will be forevermore. He was a good man. He did it right; a life well lived.
Ross was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Fink, his mother, Nita Fink, his son Douglas Fink, and his sister Carolyn Fink John. He is survived by his wife Nancy Fink (Fayetteville, Arkansas), his son, Tim Fink (Washington, D.C.), his son, Bob Fink (Hazel Valley, Arkansas), his brother, Dennis Fink (Lake Jackson, Texas), his sister-in-law, Sally Fink (Lake Jackson,Texas), his grandchildren, Sadie Fink, James Fink, and Iris Fink (Hazel Valley, Arkansas), and his daughter-in-law, Kara Fink (Hazel Valley, Arkansas).
Visitation will be on March 6th at 9:00 am with services held immediately afterward at 10:00 am at Westside church of Christ (5196 Apple Road, Springdale, Arkansas, 72762). Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Arkansas following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sacred Selections (https://www.sacredselections.org/ross-fink), a non-profit organization that helps fund adoptions.
