Ruby Jeanette Huddleston's Obituary
Ruby Janet Huddleston, 91, was called home to the Lord, whom she loved, on Saturday, Sep. 15, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on Mar. 1, 1921, to Samuel J. Downing and Pearl Ruby Clymer Downing of Cardington, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Jo Huddleston, four grandchildren, Michelle, Natasha, Eric, and Shawn, and 2 great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Huddleston, her son, Michael J. Huddleston, and 9 siblings.
Janet had many wonderful experiences in her professional life, including a school teacher in Grand Junction, Colorado. During WWII, she was a real life "Rosy the Riveter", working on the production lines for the P-51 Mustang fighter plane. She retired a Red Tab member from Levi Strauss & Co., where she worked as a seamstress. She retired to what she loved most, raising cattle, vegetables, and grandkids at her farm in West Fork, AR that she called home for 55 years.
A remembrance gathering will be held on Wednesday, Sep. 19th between 5pm-7pm at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Graveside services will be held 2PM, Thursday, Sep 20th at Baptist Ford Cemetery in West Fork, where Janet will be laid next to her husband and son.
The family requests that memorials in her name be made to the American Cancer Society, 1200 West Walnut Street Rogers, AR 72756.
