Ruby Pearl Warren, age 100, of Fayetteville, passed away January 13, 2020. She was born in 1920 in Wheeler, Arkansas. She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Lloyd O. Warren, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Michele and Roy Lang of Fayetteville, Denise and George Jones of Fayetteville, and Lynette and Rick Cartwright of Little Rock; sister-in-law Velma Brown of Wisconsin; grandchildren Mark Jones (Sheryl) of Erie, Colorado, Seth Cartwright (Vanina) of Kensington, Maryland, Amanda Cartwright and John Cartwright both of Fayetteville; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby graduated from University High School and attended the University of Arkansas. She married Lloyd Warren in 1942 and worked in the aircraft industry in California during World War II. Ruby’s focus throughout her life was taking care of her family and supporting her husband in his career. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling with Lloyd, and took much delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruby was a member of Central Baptist Church in Fayetteville since 1954. She was a resident of Butterfield Trail Village and the family greatly appreciates the compassionate care she received there, especially from the Health Care and Special Care staff for the past several years. Thanks also to the Circle of Life Hospice for their assistance.
Because Ruby requested a simple service, with “no fuss”, family and friends are invited to a visitation at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 10:00 AM-10:45 AM, followed by a short graveside service at 11:00 AM at Oakland Cemetery, Old Wire Road, Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, Ruby requested that memorials be made to Butterfield Trail Village HCC/SCC Fund, 1923 E. Joyce Blvd., Fayetteville, AR 72703, or to Oakland Cemetery Society, c/o M. White, 6632 Guy Terry Rd, Springdale, AR 72764.
