There truly is a hole in my heart today. There are no words to tell you how much I loved Ruth. She was a mentor, an inspiration and a lady who made such a difference in my life. I know that Ruth has now joined her beloved TJ in heaven and what a sweet reunion that was. Love you all very much.
Ruth was a wonderful customer and friend. She was obviously a loving, caring mother from the stories she shared with me.
Ruth was such a wonderful, lovely lady. I will always keep in my heart the delightful times we spent together. Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your Mother.

Ruth was a wonderful friend. I knew that I could call on her if I ever needed anything. She will be missed.
A few times in ones lifetime you are blessed with a friendship of someone who is of wise consul and who never waivers in who they are and who can maintain the high standard of life set before them. I learned so much about respect for my country, public service, our veterans, and our freedoms from Senator Ruth Whitaker. I count it an honor to have been included in the long list of admirers of this strong patriot, lady, and dear friend. I will always think of her when I see Old Glory wave as no one honored that symbol of freedom with their walk in life anymore than Senator Whitaker. My sadness is outweighed by the knowledge that she is forever reunited and at peace with the love of her life, Dr. T. J. Whitaker.
Ruth was a special friend. I have known her ever since she lived on So. 22nd St. close to me. We became very close when she was doing family research and she became a life member of Frontier Researchers Genealogy Society of Fort Smith. Ruth and I made some trips together to various genealogy workshops. At one convention we went to, Ruth dressed up as Elizabeth Alden of the Mayflower and won 1st place in the "dress as your ancestor contest". We had so much fun. I was so excited when she decided to run for State Office. Ruth was always passionate in any endeavor she undertook. What a difference she made for the state of Arkansas during the years she was in office. We, the people of Arkansas, were so blessed to have her working in our behalf. Ruth's family always came first in her life. Such a loving wife and mother. She will be missed by all who knew her. May God bless Brian and Alicia and their families as they hold wonderful memories of their mother and grandmother in their hearts forever. Ruth was a precious lady.
