Samuel Eugene Caudle's Obituary
Samuel Eugene Caudle,( Sammy), was born August 24th 1946 in Carlsbad, New Mexico and passed away at the Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas on November 19th, 2024. He was 78. He was predeceased by both of his parents Henry Isaac Caudle and Fredericka Ellison (Caudle). He attended the Fayetteville Schools were he enjoyed playing football with many of his friends. He graduated from Fayetteville High school in 1964 and joined the Navy in 1966. He served honorably during the Vietnam war assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk, one of the Navy’s premier air craft carriers which was the first guided missile aircraft carrier where he was a airplane flagger. He was discharged May 15th, 1972. Prior to his military service he worked with his father, a pharmacist, for the Palace Drug Store located on Dickson Street. After his service he returned to Fayetteville where he was a dedicated participant in the martial art of Taekwondo. He was an accomplished water skier, and he taught many of his friends to water ski. He became employed for the University of Arkansas transit service as a bus driver, and he greatly enjoyed meeting and transporting the University students. One of his many enjoyments was working with his hands gardening. There will be a graveside honor guard ceremony on 18th day of December at 10:30 a.m.at the Fayetteville National Cemetery to honor Sammy’s service, the public is invited.
