Sandra Ann Fischer's Obituary
Sandra Ann Fischer, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Circle of Life Hospice Center in Bentonville, AR. She was born on March 7, 1937 (better referred to as 3737 - she loved the significance of numbers) in Vandalia, IL to the late Ralston and Mabel (Hudson) Edwards. She was the oldest of 3 children, and cherished her role as “BIG” sister.
Sandy married the love of her life – Ron – on April 29, 1967 and soon after he adopted her 4 daughters. Together, they raised their family in Southern IL before retiring to Tennessee where they lived for 16 years prior to moving to Arkansas in 2020. Their love for each other was evident to all who knew them, and set an excellent example to their children and grandchildren. They instilled a strong work ethic and sense of community through volunteerism.
Sandy connected easily with everyone, and quickly turned strangers into friends. Her love for Jesus was undeniable and she radiated that love with everyone she met. Her most rewarding ministry was making her crystal “Jesus” beads – she spent countless hours making these beads that she gave to so many friends and perfect strangers with a message “Enjoy your Swarovski Jesus Crystal. It comes with a prayer that God will richly bless you!”
She gave generously of her time and talents to service the Lord. She knitted and crocheted many prayer shawls. Her involvement on Habitat for Humanity Committee, Compassionate Friends, Dress an Angel, Bread of Life homeless shelter, serving endless meals to less fortunate, mentoring young girls, and leading/participating in a variety of bible study groups, were just a few of the ways. After the loss of her daughter, she led a Grief Group for 6 years at Fairfield Glade Methodist Church. She touched so many lives.
Sandy loved to paint and was an amazing artist. We will forever treasure her many paintings and Christmas cards she painted every year.
She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Sandy was proceeded in death by Father - Ralston K Edwards, Mother - Mabel M (Hudson) Edwards, Brother - Robert (Buzz) Edwards, Daughter - Dawne (Fischer) Lehmann, and Grandsons – Cory Guetterman and Daniel Lehmann.
Sandra leaves to forever cherish her memory her husband; Ronald Fischer, her brother; Ronald (Non) Edwards, her three daughters and one stepson; Kim Fischer, Lisa (Jim) Giess, Michele (Michael) Bailey, Chris (Liz) Fischer; her twelve grandchildren; Sara (Daniel) Trujillo, Jason (Rebecca) Giess, Megan (Kyle) Kappeli, Erin (Andy) Alore, Matt (Katie) Giess, Kelsey (Bob) Vollmer, Jon (Megan) Lehmann, Kile (Sonnie) Bailey, Hannah Lehmann, Lauren Bailey, Nick (Kelsey) Fischer, Auggie Fischer; her seventeen great-grandchildren; Noah, Harrison, Cameron, Kayleigh, Blake, Rhyan, Karlynn, Weston, Lena, Kinley, Riley, Cole, Jameson, Brayston, Lilly, London, Paris
