Sharon Kay Fowler's Obituary
Sharon Kay Fowler, 81, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1944, in Downey, California, to the late Harvey and Gloria Arlene (Wells) Richardson.
Sharon, who was better known as Mom by everyone, was a retiree of Walmart and was an Elder in the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma. She loved her Native heritage. She also loved Dr. Pepper, Native American Romance Novels, Mahjong, crossword puzzles, holding the many babies in our family, and candy, specifically caramels and chocolate. She wore sleeveless tank tops and shorts year around with her leather flip flops. Growing up you came to learn they were not flip flops but were thongs.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James D. Fowler; her parents; her sister, Susie Hickey; her son, Melvin Fowler; and grandsons, Travis Bounds and Kenney Hasty.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Bounds (Ken), Janie Harmon (John), Sharon Wonderly (Robert) and Catherine Fowler; her son, Stephen Kutchfar (Rebecca); and sisters, Cheryl Rhodes and Connie Royal. Sharon's legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Rogers. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Bentonville Cemetery.
