Sharon Lou Meek's Obituary
Sharon Lou Meek passed from this life into Glory on October 15, 2023. Born in 1956 in Maysville, MO., she was the only child of Coy & Vivian Reedy.
She graduated from Maysville High School and attended Central Missouri State. She helped her aunt and uncle with their business in Colorado and there met Dr. Billy Meek in a singles class at Cherry Creek Baptist Church in Englewood, CO. They were married on December 16, 1978, at Cherry Creek and moved to Tulsa, OK. in 1985 with their two sons Tyler and Justin and basset hound, Casey.
She worked as a hospital pharmacy technician for several hospitals in the Tulsa area and retired in 2007. She served as President of the Ballroom Dancers of Tulsa for several years. She was a long-time member of Parkview Baptist Church and served on many committees from building to finance. Two of her passions were Operation Christmas Child, which she started at Parkview and keeping the church grounds vibrant and alive with beautiful flowers. She sang in the Parkview choir, played bells, sang with the group “Ladies Rejoice” and assisted with the children’s choir. Sharon and Billy moved to Rogers, AR. In September 2021 to be near her family and retire. They are members of First Baptist Church in Rogers.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dr. Billy Meek, her two sons, Tyler and his wife Natalie of Bella Vista, and Justin stationed at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, as well as two grandchildren: Emsley Mae and Claire Melody, and her Uncle Keith White of Cheyenne, WY.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home of Rogers. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Rogers. A private interment will be held at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens.
