Sharon Myers' Obituary
Sharon Myers 60, of Fayetteville, AR passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at her home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born June 24, 1948 in San Antonio, TX the daughter of Gershon and Etta (Tatelman) Barenblat.
Sharon received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Texas and her Master’s from San Diego State University. While she could have chosen any profession, she dedicated her career to helping children develop language and communication. She loved children and was wonderful at her job. The many lives she touched through her life and her work will be forever improved by having known her. She will be missed, even by those who didn’t directly know her, because her efforts have always been towards goodness and respect for others.
A friend to everyone who knew her – she was a wonderful listener, always dependable, and ever open to give of herself. Smart, beautiful, always understated – she would support others rather than be in the limelight herself. She was always willing to work and serve in the background, but her competence, her kindness, and her gentle, good spirit inevitably pushed her to the front of every endeavor.
Sharon was a generous contributor to social and political causes and donated across a wide-span of charitable organizations. She was an active member in Temple Shalom, serving as vice president of the board and on the sisterhood for many years.
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Carl Myers; her two daughters and son-in-laws, Erin and Michael Cohen and Mariah and Kane Aldinger; her two beloved grandsons, Isaac Cohen and Jonah Aldinger, and a brother Marty Barenblat.
