Sheila Kay Eversole's Obituary
Sheila Kay Jackson Eversole, 82 years old, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on June 10, 2023. Sheila was born in Rogers, AR, in 1940 and raised by Geneva Rush Jackson (Willbanks) and William R. “Doc” Jackson, DVM. Sheila attended Rogers schools and graduated in 1958. She married her loving husband, Clayton, on October 17 of the same year. Clayton and Sheila had two daughters.
Sheila was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed creating a welcoming home to entertain friends and family in her stylish way. She inspired learning and growth in her daughters and those who knew her. An avid reader and patron of the arts, she made a point to include trips to museums, libraries, theatres, concerts, craft fairs, and art galleries whenever possible, and her cross-stitch skills were unmatched. Sheila spent many years as an active member of the First Christian Church.
Sheila and Clayton had the opportunity to travel the world and have many stories of memorable trips with friends and family. Some favorites were Santa Fe & Taos, NM, Texas Hill Country, and visits to several European locations. She always lit up when reminiscing about the Isle of Santorini.
Sheila is survived by her husband Clayton, daughter Teresa McLemore and husband Kent, daughter Amy Eversole, sister Letitia King and husband John; grandchildren Hannah McLemore Scanlon and husband Jake, Sam McLemore, and partner Mallory Martin; nephew Steven Neal and wife Ally (children Benton and Ellis), and niece Jennifer Ballard and husband Michael (children Beau and Charlotte). Sheila is predeceased by her sister Marcia Neal.
In lieu of visitation or funeral services, and to honor Sheila’s memory, we ask that all who wish to participate donate to Rogers Historical Museum or Circle of Life Hospice. These were two of Sheila’s favorites.
There will be a private memorial service in the fall to celebrate her memory.
