Shirley Ann Carpenter's Obituary
Shirley Ann Carpenter, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born on December 16, 1947, in Auburn, N.Y., Shirley dedicated her career to caring for others as a retired home health aide for the Cayuga County. Her life was a testament to love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Shirley was celebrated for her kind heart, infectious smile. She found immense joy in spending quality time with her family, traveling and embarking on delightful trips to casinos with her beloved husband. Shirley is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Alan Carpenter; her loving children, Duane (and Marla) Carpenter, Tammy (and Lisa) Harper, and Shawn (and Lori) Carpenter; five treasured grandchildren, Jake, Nathan, Melissa, Marissa, and Ratasha; and 11 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Avery, Charlotte, Collins, Kendall, EmmyLou, Christopher, Benjamin, Jason Jr. Maurie’anna and Mary’anna. Her siblings; Diane [Bill] Fiaco, Nancy [Tico] Mazzeo, Jannie [Terry] Mac, Mary Gleason and Dorothy [Chuck] Donado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor Shaft, brother Kenneth Shaft and sister Sharon Cardinale.
A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's remarkable life will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR, on Monday, September 8th, at 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in her honor be made to: Big Paws of the Ozarks, 121 Township St. Suites 4-7, Fayetteville AR 72703. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
