Shirley Shoemaker Edrington's Obituary
Shirley Shoemaker Edrington passed away on Saturday July 8, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Shirley was born in Osceola Arkansas on July 12, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Carter and Bird Shoemaker.
Shirley was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville and most recently Christ Church NWA. She was a regular volunteer at Cooperative Emergency Outreach where she took pride in helping those in need. She treated all of her clients with respect and kindness.
Shirley was an avid sports fan. She loved Razorback sports and never missed a Razorback football, basketball or baseball game on TV.
One of Shirley’s greatest pleasures was spending time with friends and her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved cooking for them and was always a perfectionist when it came to her meals. She always thought that her dishes “could have come out a little bit better.”
She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Edrington and son Lee Edrington.
She is survived by daughters Beth McEver (Rob) and Susan Edrington; grandchildren Trey Edrington, Elise Edrington, Elizabeth Edrington, Drew McEver (Netania), Matt McEver (Madison), Billy McEver (Emily); Kailee Gonzalez-Welsh (Noah); one great-grandchild Leandro Vasquez; niece Robin Baumann (Mike); and cousins Diana (C.A.) and Lonnie Strange.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10 AM, Friday July 14th in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Reverend Steve Pulliam officiating. Private interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Church NWA P.O. Box 10798 Fayetteville, AR 72703 or CEO (Cooperative Emergency Outreach) 1649 E. Huntsville Rd. Fayetteville, AR 72701.
