Shirley Ann Milholland's Obituary
Shirley Ann Milholland, beloved wife, daughter, mother and grandmother,
peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the age of 82. Shirley was born February 7, 1944 in Lake Village, AR, to Dalton and Catherine Breedlove Roebuck. Shirley’s mother, Catherine, passed away in an automobile accident when Shirley was only 4yrs old. Following the death of her mother, she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Essie & Jessie Breedlove, until she graduated from Lakeside High School in Lake Village, Arkansas. Shirley devoted her life to her family and faith, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. At the young age of 19, Shirley married the love of her life, Melvin, on January 25th, 1964, in Lake Village, AR, and they just recently celebrated 62 years of marriage together this past January. Together, they built a life rich in love and support creating beautiful memories from their shared experiences together. Shirley devoted her life to the ministry, alongside her husband, Melvin. Shirley and Melvin took a large leap of faith four years after Melvin graduated from college. That leap of faith was a great commitment to the Apostolic teachings in the New Testament. As a devoted member of the United Pentecostal Church, she exemplified her beliefs through her actions, inspiring those around her. Her faith was a guiding force, reflected in the love and values she instilled in her family. Shirley’s dedication to her work in the ministry was evident, but it was her commitment to her family that truly defined her life. After 13 years of marriage, Shirley and Melvin welcomed their only child, Heather Renee’, on November 4th, 1977 who has been the joy of their life. Throughout her life, Shirley cherished creating memories with her loved ones. One of her favorite pastimes is her love for good conversation while drinking a cold bottle of Coca-Cola.
Shirley supported her family by working at several jobs such as being a secretary for an insurance agent, was employed by Baldwin Piano, worked as teacher and secretary for a Christian school, and assisted in the bookkeeping for Milholland Engineering and Surveying. Shirley took great pleasure in taking care of her husband, Melvin, and daughter, Heather. Shirley is remembered for her classy appearance and joyful personality. If she was hosting guests, in her home, it was not uncommon to find the sheets on the bed pressed with creases like her husband’s shirts. Shirley's favorite clothing designer was Ralph Lauren. A close friend put it this way... If Cole Haan, Ralph Lauren & Brooks Brothers had a child, it was your mom.
Shirley’s love for life, family and friends was expressed in her everyday character and personality. The first thing she portrayed to exemplify her character and personality was a contagious smile and a very respectful and kind greeting. Shirley was known to light up the room when she walked in!
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton Lamar Roebuck and Catherine Breedlove Roebuck; her maternal grandparents, Jessie & Essie Breedlove; her father-in-law, Vester Lee Milholland and her mother-in-law, Gladys Middleton Milholland; her closest cousin and best friend, Peggy Hackett Miller, and her closest aunt, Jane Hackett Adams. Shirley is survived by her beloved family; her loving husband, Melvin Milholland of Fayetteville, AR; daughter Heather Renee LeBlanc and husband, Brian Robert LeBlanc, of Springdale, AR; her grandson James Bryce Atwood of Dallas, TX, and her granddaughter Payton Camille LeBlanc of Springdale, AR As we remember Shirley Ann Milholland, we honor and respect her character and personality that she reflected to the devotion of others through her kindness and love for humanity.
