Stephanie Foint's Obituary
Stephanie Foint- Richey, 53 passed away on October 31, 2008 after a long illness. She was at home in Fayetteville, Arkansas with her children and grandchildren by her side. Stephanie was born January 17, 1955, and raised in Los Angeles, California. In 1982, she came to visit her sister in Fairbanks and after falling in love with the community stayed until she moved her family to Arkansas in 1997. She loved Alaska with all its beauty, openness and freedom. Her dream was to return someday, however her illness prevented that. While living in Fairbanks, Stephanie was involved with the Head Start program , PTA at University Park Elementary school and she was employed at Fred Meyer’s west. She earned a degree in Women’s Studies through the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She was active with the Jewish Congregation of Fairbanks and served as president of the Fairbanks chapter of Hadassah. Stephanie led a simple life which was devoted to her children, her grandchildren, family and friends. Throughout her illness, she would continue to tell everyone, “don’t worry about me, I’ll be all right, please take care of you.” Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents Renee and Bernard Foint. She is survived by her children TJ, Matthew, and Sarah, her daughter-in-law Michelle, and her three grandchildren, Felicity, Noah, and Brandon all of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and her sister Shelly Foint-Anderson, brother-in-law Kent and their children Levia and Joshua all of North Pole. Stephanie was laid to rest on November 10, 2008 at Groman-Eden Cemetery in Mission Hills, California. Funeral arrangements were made by Nelson-Berna Funeral home in Fayetteville, Arkansas and Groman- Eden Mortuary in California. On Friday, November 21, 2008, her sister will host an oneg at Congregation OrHatzafon after services in her memory. All who knew her are invited to come and share stories and memories.
