Steve was genuinely kind...he and his Family assimilated my son and me into their families, starting with Fay, continuing with Andrea, Susan and Jack. During my doctoral studies, at the University of Arkansas, Steve was unrelentless in his assitance at the library.
I recall hie loving nature, and he never missed a chance to feed the ducks.
I admired his attention to detail in caring for his mother and and others. He sold my son his first car 🚗 for a $1 bill of sale, a 1990 Honda Accord, a treasure for many years. We were family and we miss Steve. We rejoice in knowing that someday we shall meet again, perhaps share ice cream with him and Faye, even throw out a few palindromes.
In fun memories

I loved stopping on campus to talk to Steve about...anything. His art brought a smile and his humor cheered me on many a day. What a difficult time for you, Andrea. You have all my sympathy.
Andrea, I am so sorry to hear/ read of the loss of your dear Steve. I remember his bouncy gait and ever-present smile and good cheer as he would enter Special Collections from AV Department. My sincere condolences to you. Charlene Kaufmann
My condolences to Andrea and Steve's family. I am so sorry for your loss. I was Steve's supervisor for many of the years that he worked in Mullins Library. Steve always put our patrons first and provided special help to individuals needing special accommodations. He made my job easier. Rest in peace, Steve.

Steve's good nature, quick wit, and talents made each visit with him a joy; UAF is not the same. Condolences to Andrea and Steve's sisters.
