Stephen Alexander Lancaster passed peacefully from this life om January 22, 2025.
He was born on April 4, 1948 in San Bernardino, California to Stephen Alexander Lancaster and Cledith B. George. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Thomas Riley .
He leaves behind his wife, Janet Lancaster and his children Jennifer Clemmons of Roger, AR and Aaron Lancaster of Sacramento, CA, , Christie (Jason) Beier of Gentry AR and Racheal Bowlin of Fayetteville, AR: His grandchildren Daniel (Emily) Alendal of Enterprise FL, Nathan Alendal of Gillet, WI, Sean Rose of Sacramento, CA, Tonya (Mark) Rose of Sacramento CA, Lukha-Jack Merritt of Rogers, AR and Molly Merritt of Rogers AR, Christopher Smith, Olivia Smith and Sawyer Smith all of Gentry, AR. Four great-grandchildren.
He earned his BS in History at California State University at Sacramento. H also attended Hillcrest Jr, High and Fayetteville High School.
He was an avid reader, seeker of knowledge and a student of politics. He considered himself a Libertarian. He enjoyed drive by vacations and an annual trip to Oaklawn for Rebel Stakes Day. He was a great admirer of the great Secretariat. He was a teller of TALL tales and bad jokes, and held the record for number of times he watched The Lion in Winter. Road trips always included listening to opera and Tennessee Ernie Ford. Due to several close calls, he was prohibited from doing home repairs. He liked cooking and was an experimental cook. He greatly admired Gen. Robert E. Lee and Gen. Stonewall Jackson. He is a proud descendant of a Confederate soldier. He spent some time researching his family history. He was a member of The Southern Memorial Association of Washington County and always attended the annual Memorial Day at the Fayetteville Confederate Cemetery.
He at one point owned a bookstore that sold romance novels, but primarily worked in the food service industry and with elderly nutrition programs. He was retired from Chartwells at the University of Arkansas.
He loved his little dog Jack.
