Stephen James Shipcoff's Obituary
Stephen James (Steve) Shipcoff, 68, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born January 8, 1949 in Granite City, Illinois to James and Gana Soneff Shipcoff. He graduated from Madison High School in Madison, Illinois, and then attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and later at Edwardsville, Illinois. Through his youth, Steve was a strong athlete and excelled in many sports including baseball, basketball, football and tennis. He later found a great love for bowling and golf. Steve forged a successful career at Walmart, starting in management at the store level, and rising throughout his nearly 30 year tenure to eventually contribute to many departments within the company. This rewarding career experience allowed him to see the world and make a lasting impression on so many of his colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. At home Steve was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sondra, who he said to be the greatest love he d ever known; his four children, Jamie Shipcoff Brown and her husband, Larry, Joshua Shipcoff, Sean Dockery and wife, Tracey, Kevin Dockery and his wife, Wendy; his sister, Elaine Shipcoff, his loving grandchildren, Vivienne Brown, Alan Dockery, Peyton Dockery, Christian Dockery, Brenden Dockery, Zachary Pacheco, Nicholas Pacheco, Jacob Dockery , Joshua Pacheco; sister-in-law, Judy Webb and husband, Gerald; brothers-in-law, Paul Bailey and wife, Jeannie and Mark Bailey and wife, Barbara. Steve was known by all to be the life of every party. He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest, always ready to impart his knowledge and stimulate lively conversation. Steve was truly one-of-a-kind and made a tremendous impact on all who knew him through his remarkable character. He was greatly cherished and will be forever missed. Visitation will be Sunday, March 19th at Stockdale Moody Funeral Services of Rogers from 2:00 until 4:00pm. Funeral services will be Monday, March 20th at Stockdale Moody Funeral Home at 11am with burial to follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens.
