Stephen Lee Trudeau, 77, died on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, after a sudden illness.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Denise Trudeau; his sister, Cheri Maffia (from Cotati, CA); his three daughters, Jackie Shelley (from Santa Rosa, CA), Cynthia Sigman (from San Jose, CA), and Jessica Moscoso (from Minneapolis, MN); his six grandchildren, Megan Harrell, Nicole Shelley, Conner Sigman, Carly Sigman, Ana Trudeau, and Lucia Moscoso; his great-granddaughter, Emily Harrell; and his sister-in-law, Karla Bean (from West Plains, MO).
Stephen was born at Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, California on February 20th, 1943, the first son of Lawrence Louis Trudeau and Loena Wilson-Stall. He lived in California for most of his life on his family’s apple orchard. He moved to Arkansas in 1988 to retire.
He graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1962, and afterwards, he worked as a computer programmer for many years at Levi’s Straus in San Francisco. He then met his wife Kathleen in 1985, and they were happily married for 32 years.
Stephen had a passion for mechanics and became a master mechanic later in life. Carpentry was another passion of his, and he enjoyed building additions to his Arkansas home. He also loved boating and enjoyed driving his boat on Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas with his wife and his dog, Buddy. He enjoyed spending time at home with his family, visiting his daughters and grandchildren, and working on his boat.
Stephen was beloved by many and will be sorely missed. He was recently preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Louis Trudeau, in 2008.
“Our hearts hurt as your life was taken from us so suddenly. You were a wonderful Dad and Grandpa. Your stories and fun adventures will never be forgotten. We will keep your spirit alive and always remember how much you loved us. We love you Dad. Rest in Peace.” -Jackie, Cynthia and Jessica
Memorial service will be held at a later date due to the coronavirus, when his daughters will be able to travel again.
He will be laid to rest at Stuart Union Cemetery in West Plains, MO, a family cemetery.
