Steve R. Wehrenberg's Obituary
Steve R. Wehrenberg “Berg” left his earthly life behind Sunday, November 20, 2022 surrounded by family and his beloved dog, Waylon at his home. Born July 21, 1952 in Los Angeles, California. Raised in Elk City, Oklahoma along Route 66. He graduated from Elk City High School in 1970. His love of motorcycles started at an early age and continued throughout his entire life.
He was proceeded in death by his loving parents, Lou Etta (Treece) and Harold R Wehrenberg, his beloved daughter Amy Lee, Uncle Albert, and numerous other family and friends.
Steve’s life spanned a long road of travel, adventure, motorcycles and friends. The only child of Harold and Lou Etta who adopted him at a young age. He grew up in Elk City Oklahoma and remained there for many years.
Survived by his son Steve Wehrenberg and wife Mandy Wehrenberg of Mustang, Oklahoma, Grandkids Taya Danae, Kinley, Danee, Keagen, Beckett, and Creed. Cousins Paul and Molly Wehrenberg of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Steve owned his own Motorcycle and Truck Mechanic Shop. Berg’s Custom Cycles is still remembered 30 years later. He worked as a truck mechanic at Peterbilt (The Larson Group) in South Dakota and Tontitown, Arkansas. Kenworth, Springdale Arkansas, Tattoo Artist at Bee Line Tattoo and Club Tattoo, Aviation Mechanic (Graduated in 2002 at the age of 49).
Steve moved around a bit before settling in Northwest Arkansas where he met Jennie McDonald, his wife of 20 years.
You could catch him up at Sturgis in his younger years. Later, down on Dickson Street during Bikes, Blues and BBQ. Steve liked to get out on the road and put a lot of miles on his motorcycles. He enjoyed everything that his motorcycles represented, the freedom, wind in his face, meeting new friends, and spending time at historical and scenic sites just taking it all in.
By far the thing he loved the most about motorcycles is the brotherhood that came with them and from the people that rode and have that same kindred spirit. When Steve moved to Northwest Arkansas he didn’t know many people, and only had a few friends there. When he passed on those friends became a huge family. It’s a wonderful story for a man who had no family as a young child.
There will be a Celebration of his life on December 3 2022 from Noon to 5pm at his residence in Farmington. Drop in, pot luck. Bring your favorite finger food. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or Arkansas Sheriff Youth Ranch.
