Steven L. Evenson's Obituary
Steven L. Evenson, age 72, passed away on August 20, 2023, in Rogers, Arkansas surrounded by family. He was born on June 6, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Steve was a loving husband, devoted father, dedicated friend and avid fisherman. Steve's life was a testament to the values of family, friendship and working hard to provide for his family. Steve worked for Kawneer, an Alcoa Company, for over 35 years. When he wasn’t working, he was fishing on Beaver Lake, often with his wife Debbie. Steve shared his love and knowledge of fishing with anyone who would listen, but was also very protective with whom he shared tips about his favorite lures and secret fishing coves. He was an exceptional Cribbage player and had an endless list of corny jokes that he could rattle off at any moment.
Steve is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Evenson, his parents, Raymond and Bettie Hansen Evenson and sister, Lynn Evenson. Steve's legacy lives on through his two children, Misty Pettigrew of Bentonville and Ryan Evenson of Lowell, and four grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Maddox and Mavia.
Friends and family are invited to join in a visitation to honor Steve's memory. The visitation will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Nelson-Berna in Rogers. During this time, stories of his life and shared memories will undoubtedly bring comfort and solace to those who knew him. A private family committal will be held at Benton County Memorial Park.
As we remember Steve, let us take solace in the knowledge that his spirit lives on in the memories he created, the lessons he taught and the love he shared. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, his love for family and his passion for fishing.
