Belatedly I learned of the death of our friend Steven, and I was quite saddened by it. Steven was a spirited member of our small group of Univ. of Texas students who went to the Univ. of Chile in the fall of 1961. Green as we were, he already was kind, considerate and inquiring, and he cared sincerely about the Chilean people and their aspirations. Directly or indirectly the trip seemed to make a deep impression on him, as he later went into the public service of knowledge and teaching. A trip reunion is planned for March, 2018, and during it we will remember Steven with great affection. Greg Lipscomb, Austin, TX

To the Neuse family, I was an MPA student during the late 1990's. I thoroughly enjoyed my classes with Dr. Neuse, including sparring with him regularly over the political activities of the day. I was a MPA student in 1981 when Dr. Neuse arrived at the U of A. He modernized the program & was a great mentor for me personally. I could always come by to his office to chat about any subject without an appointment & he would stop whatever he was doing. I stayed in contact with him throughout my career. He was a great ambassador for the University. R.I.P. Dr. Neuse.

Jeanine, my heart is with you. You and Steven were my idols when we were all young. I remember most our discussions of philosophy and religion in your apartment at SMU, being a bridesmaid at your wedding, and Steven's officiating at my wedding. I love you, Cousin, and I hope you and your family are comforted by remembering what a remarkable husband, father, brother, and grandfather you had and loved.
