Steven Brown Roberts' Obituary
Steven Brown Roberts, age 87, passed away on June 3, 2026, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 23, 1939, to Beverly and Fred Roberts. Steve played basketball, football and baseball at Sand Springs High School where he was All State in all three sports. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation from college, he began his career in Boston at New England Life Insurance company. Steve worked in sales throughout his life at various companies specializing in life insurance, real estate, and home security systems market.
In 1969 Steve moved to Dallas, Texas. Steve was a was a fan of the Cowboys and Mavericks. His biggest sports passion, however, was golf. He enjoyed playing golf as well as attending many PGA events. His favorite was the Masters which he attended for many years. Steve loved his family above all else and that includes his faithful dogs, Bailey and Sampson. He enjoyed taking his dogs to Starbucks daily while enjoying coffee and conversation with friends. Steve loved jesting with family, friends and strangers. His sense of humor was engaging as was his ability to tell stories. He loved describing train trips with his dad to watch baseball games or recounting play be play descriptions of sporting events from his childhood.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Adrienne Smith and Michelle Roberts, and his son Steven Mitchell “Mitch” Roberts.
He is survived his wife Margie Nancarrow, daughter Adrienne Scott and husband Chad, stepdaughter Cristy Smith and husband Tim, grandchildren Kade Scott and wife Lauren, Lexi Scott, Mia Roberts, Ava Roberts, Ty Smith, Emma Smith, and great granddaughter Crosby Scott.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter or to a charity of your choice.
