Susan was the epitome of hospitality. The kind that wasn't about being fancy or formal...it was the kind that welcomed you into the fold and made you feel like family. The kind that had you heaping amazing food onto your own plate and grabbing a drink from the fridge, surrounded by smiling faces and great stories. The kind of hospitality that looked easy, felt real, and inspired your own. My favorite memory of a particular moment in time was when an idea was hatched to host a Christmas cookie exchange, and Susan stepped right up to offer that glorious, cozy family home of hers as the place to gather. It was what a holiday home should feel like, and it launched a cookie exchange tradition that is still going strong 23 years later, with a very special mission of supporting the outreach of the Jackson Graves Foundation. Susan will forever hold a piece of that honored and cherished tradition, and it's just one of myriad ways she embraced her community and people. She was just lovely, in every sense of the word. ❤️Kelly Hale Syer
