I was shocked and so sad to read the obituary of Susan. Susan was a devoted daughter, she gave years of her life to care for her parents. Susan called me in 2012-2013 to help her manage her mother's care, Mary Carte. We first created a care plan at Legacy Village, but then moved to Ashley in Rogers for 24 hour skilled care. The care was excellent, but Susan never missed one day to visit her mother and check on her needs. The one weekend she took off for a weekend excursion, she could not forgive herself. We are the same age and I managed my parent's care for 13 years as a geriatric clinical medical social worker. The stress and demands are extreme. I am so saddened to see that this loving woman has left us so early in life after so many years of caring for others.
