Dr. Thomas Beverly Jones' Obituary
Dr. Thomas Beverly Jones, age 75, of Fayetteville, AR, passed from this life Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was born August 18, 1946, in Nashville, TN, and grew up the son of the late Shirley Jones and Virginia Pardue Jones in nearby Gallatin. Thomas was a retired radiologist. He practiced medicine across the USA with stops in eastern Tennessee, Nashville, Mobile, Boston, and Los Angeles, finally settling in Northwest Arkansas. Among his many hobbies and interests, he loved computers and was an avid boater, diver, and snow skier. Tom’s claim to fame was that he DJ’d the first rock & roll song on the radio in Nashville in the early 1960’s.
Survivors are his wife, Ramona Carol Ellison Jones; a son, Robert Michael Jones; a step daughter, Dawn Noelle Benton (Thomas); a step son, Jay Wilson (Lauren Johnson); a sister, Barbara (Jones) Abney (Jesse); and grandchildren, Hillary Hunter, Andrew Benton and Nova Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willard Walker Hospice, 325 E. Longview St, Fayetteville, AR, 72703.
