Dr. Newberry, I enjoyed the brief time I spent working as your nurse. There was seldom a dull moment working with you. You were such a caring, passionate and thoughtful man. I'll never forget it! You so graciously offered traveling tips and time at your condo. Thank you for offering, it meant so much to me. Not a day passes that I don't think of you. I know you are at peace and I will continue to pray for your wonderful family. Love Always

To wife Martha and children,My deepest sympathy on the passing of your loved one. Many caring thoughts are with you today during your time of sorrow. I always enjoyed talking professional and college football with Dr. Newberry. He will be missed.Blessings for much strength.
To Martha and Dr. Newberry's children, your husband and father had such a profound impact on the lives of the many Veterans he treated over the years. Countless Veterans have told me that they are not sure they would be alive were it not for his guidance and intervention. The depth of their despair was just so great but his steady hand and intervention brought them time and time again from the breaking point. The ripple effect of the impact he had on so many is immeasurable but I hope knowing how important and how meaningful his life and work was gives you some comfort as you grapple with his loss. Dr. Tom, We first met when you first moved to Fayetteville to the Cliff's Apartments. I would not be here today if it were not for you. I wish I could have traveled with you, actually I did - in my mind. The stories we shared gave me peace. So sorry we never had that lunch.
